What do you like most about working at Motion Canada?
The people and the sense of accomplishment I get out of my job every day.
Have you learned anything cool about yourself while working here?
I have learned not to compare myself to others because we are all valuable to the company in different ways. You just have to discover what makes you, “you!” When I started at Motion Canada, I came from a Chemistry/Forestry background and was a bit overwhelmed by the knowledge people had at our branch. But I didn’t let that stop me. For three months I worked in shipping and receiving so I could learn about the many products going in and out of the warehouse, which was key to build my knowledge base.
Fast forward two years, and now I use my new knowledge plus my forestry background as North Bay’s Field Solutions Specialist! I still have lots to learn, but the one thing that I, and hopefully others, take from this, is to find what makes you valuable to the company and be confident in that. We are each valuable in our own unique ways.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go any why?
The Northwest Territories. I am drawn to this particular spot because of the outdoor adventure opportunities, and I would love to learn more about Indigenous Peoples’ culture and way of life in the area. Plus, I’d have front row seats to the Aurora Borealis – it’s the greatest lightshow on earth!
If you were an ice cream flavor, which would you be and why?
Heavenly Hash – really sweet but totally nuts.
